Adorably worn vintage brass tone peter pan collar necklace is decorated by twist in the center. Not adjustable.
History: The bib collar, or 'peter pan' collar, is said to have originated around the early 1900's when actress Maude Adam's costume, playing Peter Pan, had the flat round cornered collar. After the sensationalism of such collar, these collars became all the rage, replacing straight traditional collars. The trend faded in and out of style until the late 40's, where a terribly shy designer shook the core of fashion fundamentals, Christian Dior. In his historical collection "The Look", dresses had fitted bodices and full skirts had extraordinary amounts of fabric and these were decorated with jewel or low-cut necklines or Peter Pan collars.
