Large faceted amber colored rhinestone sets on a braided gold tone base.
History: Jewelry from the 70's was a decade that pulled inspiration from many previous decades. Metal work involving braiding, coiling, and other textures was popularized during the 1950's. After WW II, skilled craftsmen returned from the battlefields and war industries to their workshops. Their new optimism was expressed in the experimentation of conventional techniques used in jewelery, therefore producing textured metals, asymmetrical objects, and starbursts.
